Here, we do life together.

Welcome to Fairfax!

If you are looking for a church in the Fairfax/Chantilly or Washington D.C. area, we hope that you will join us. We are a Bible-based, nondenominational church, and our whole heart is focused on helping people connect with God and others. We are “seeking to be God’s heart to this community.”

We are praying everyday that God sends people just like you into our lives. And just as God has done with us, we seek to take people wherever they are in their walk with God. You will be greeted with a smile by friendly who truly care!

Whether you need space or want to engage in meaningful conversation, we seek to be responsive to your needs. If you are looking for deeper relationships, we also invite you to check out one of our small groups.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your worship service times?

Currently, we have one Sunday morning worship time that is at 9 AM and lasts about an hour. Because we are a church that lives spread out from the building we also have a 30 minute fellowship time between worship and Bible class, which begins at 10:30am.

How large is the church?

The Fairfax Church of Christ usually has about 350 people on a typical Sunday.

What should I wear?

Clothes! We have people in jeans and a t-shirt, business casual, and even a few suits. We are much less concerned with what you wear than with you simply coming and feeling comfortable and welcome!

Do you have small groups? How do I join a small group?

Yes, we have small groups! Most of our small groups meet on Sunday evenings. Most of our groups have a combination of a meal, short devotional, prayer, and some type of outreach or service. There are groups spread out across the Fairfax and Washington D.C. area.

If you are interested in joining a small group, let us know and we’ll get you all the information that you need for a group that is just right for you! Of course, you may very well get an invitation from a member to come and visit their group. Try out different groups and find one that is right for your location, life stage, and passions and Spiritual gifts.

What is there for my kids?

Our children’s and youth/student ministries are a real strength of the Fairfax Church of Christ. There is a Children’s Worship for kids age 3-1st grade, a S.O.S. (Showing Our Savior) group for kids age 4th-6th grade, and a youth group for kids 7th-12th grade. Our children and teens are involved in Bible studies, service projects, mission trips, leadership retreats, camps, and all kinds of fun activities. These ministries also provide resources for parents to help them in raising their children to follow God

How do I get involved or learn how to serve?

We have a Strengths Finder and Spiritual Gifts assessment that we encourage people to take which can help a person discover their natural Strengths and their Spiritual gifts. These discoveries can be applied to the different areas of people’s lives–their family, their unchurched/world settings, and the church. Contact Lisa Bosley, our Family Life/Equipping Minister, for a Strengths and Spiritual gifts assessment or to get involved in a specific ministry.

Does this church reach out to the community?Absolutely! Our vision statement says that we are “seeking to be God’s heart to this community.” We care deeply about our community and are actively involved in seeking its welfare, serving our community, and introducing people to Christ.

Several of our members go to downtown D.C. on Thursday nights to feed the homeless, pray for them, and share Christ through a ministry called the “Least of These.” We also offer ESL and FriendSpeak classes to help people improve their English and learn the gospel. Also, each year, we open our building for a week in the winter to provide shelter to our neighbors who are homeless.

How can I learn more about God, Christ, the Christian faith, or becoming a Christian?

We have an entry level evangelistic Bible study that can be done one on one with one of our ministers or in a small group–a group specifically that designed to bring together those who are new in their seeking God and some Christians who join them in their journey. Contact us below if you are interested.
