Posture and Presence
Remember, as we approach prayer, fasting, and the spiritual disciplines, it is important that we consider our Attitude, Approach, Posture, and Presence. These four areas are our passwords to connect to God’s network. This week, we focus on our Posture and Presence.
From Series: "Welcome to the Network"
Prayer and fasting—along with a whole array of spiritual disciplines—draw us closer to God and connects us to him. Time spent in undivided attention to God reminds us that God and only God is God. Christ alone saves. Only the Spirit brings life. Recognizing this, we respond in gratitude, by taking the time and by doing whatever it is that makes sense to us to love God in return.

A Strong Connection
We live in a world of cell phones and the internet. They connect us to the world. And when the network is down, we feel lost and disconnected. We will do what's necessary to connect and stay connected. Spiritual disciplines are ways of strengthening our connection to God. The spiritual disciplines help teach us to consistently turn our lives over to God and to be surprised by the ways he transforms our lives. The practice of spiritual disciplines begins with small steps toward holiness.
