Leaving and Returning
In scripture, home is this reoccurring theme. When we’re home we’re where we were meant to be. It’s home we want, but often, it’s home we run from. In the classic parable of the Prodigal Son, we first see a story of a young man who leaves because he thinks good things are found away from home. Soon, at his lowest point, he returns home to find his father waiting for him to welcome him home. The prodigal son reminds us that God’s grace is inexhaustible: we can never out-sin his forgiveness.
From Series: "Home"
In this three-week sermon series, we examine the characters in the famous parable of the prodigal son; younger, older brother, and father. This sermon series focuses on finding home with God after feeling too far gone to be saved. It also challenges those who think association with God is equal to truly knowing Him as demonstrated through the older brother. Lastly, we get a glimpse of God’s unconditional love for all his children as demonstrated by the father in the story. This is a compassionate and challenging study on relationship with the Godhead and demonstrating God’s love in our daily lives.
