Our Vision, Mission & Values
Our Mission
As a church, we are called to fulfill both the Great Commission and the Greatest Commandment, and our mission statement reflects these core mandates, grounding us in the Greatest Truth. This mission shapes everything we do—from our ministries to the resources we create. We invite you to join us in actively participating in the work of the Lord, moving beyond passive observation to fully engage in His purpose.
Our mission is To boldly show Jesus, to love God, and to love others because God first loved us.
- The greatest truth: God loves us
- The greatest commands: Love God and others
- The great commission: Share the good news
Our Vision
We will reflect God’s heart in our communities. As people fully dependent on God’s Holy Spirit, we will offer a welcoming haven for everyone, share the good news of Jesus Christ in our communities, use our unique location and resources for spiritual impact, and deepen biblical understanding that leads to spiritual maturity.
Our 2030 Vision
Here’s a snapshot of what we are currently working toward. We hope and pray that in 2030, this can be said of the Fairfax Church of Christ:
We are a welcoming, diverse community that provides a haven for those seeking God. We provide a place of refuge, walking with people through the challenges of life. To foster spiritual and mental healing, we offer on-site Christian counseling services, along with care groups and educational classes.
We celebrate the work of God in our lives and equip one another to reach our local and distant communities with the good news of Jesus. We have grown our online presence in a way that has led many people to become Christ followers who are in active community with other Christ followers.
Seeking the welfare of our communities, we use our unique location and resources for spiritual impact. We are indispensable to these communities. Our updated facility is flexible and accessible. Our early learning center and before and after school activities will operate at capacity. We have established relationships with the families who benefit from the school to share the Gospel of Jesus consistently. To ensure we keep hearts and minds open to new ministries, we established a ministry research & development team. We try new ideas and new opportunities to follow the spirit of God.
As people changed by the Gospel, we are intentional about creating multiple gatherings, including our weekly corporate worship, that encourage greater growth through Biblical understanding, fostering relationships, and serving the needs of the people. We’ve nurtured spiritual maturity through utilizing spiritual gifts, training teachers, and equipping leaders.
This is a church led by Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, dedicated to transforming lives into the image of Jesus, and advancing the kingdom of God.
