Sammie is the Family Minister to Students, and started attending the Fairfax Church of Christ as a student himself in the late 80’s. Although he has been in full time ministry for a relatively small amount of time, he considers his journey to his current position as a unique testimony (and one that he is happy to share with you if you want to know)! Sammie graduated from the University of Virginia, both from the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Law. After almost 15 years serving in several capacities on Capitol Hill and in the private sector, he happily accepted God’s call to work and serve alongside the junior high and high school students of the congregation, and reflect how a love for God and His Word means more than anything!
Sammie met (in room 202) and married (in the worship center) his wife Jill at the Fairfax Church of Christ, and they have one very, very energetic son, Maxwell. When not writing biographies for church websites, he enjoys all things movies (watching, talking about, reading about, and eventually writing them(!)), games of all sorts, music (especially of the 80’s), a good cup of coffee, long conversations with friends and vehemently stands by the fact that you should ALWAYS start viewing the Star Wars saga with Episode IV, NOT Episode I.
