On April 17th from 9:00 am - noon ... Volunteers are needed! We need people to assist the Car Seat techs outside (no training necessary), Greeters, Valets, and to serve inside in a Hospitality room (please bring a food or drink to share).

• 80-90% of car seats are installed incorrectly.
• Car accidents are the leading cause of death in children.

We need you to come help us keep kids safe and be God’s Heart to our community!

Our Fairfax Student Ministry continues to put together food to go in the backpacks of local school children on the last Sunday of each month.  The following are the donation items needed to fill the backpacks:

• individual oatmeal packets
• individual Easy Mac packets
• Chef Boyardee microwavable cups (small)
• individual 100% juice boxes (small)
• individual fruit cups
• individual tuna or chicken packet

We are excited to start planning for the next Basic Needs Giveaway in the Fall of 2010.  Please mark your calendars for Saturday, September 25!  We are very excited about the work in the house next door and are happy to let you know donations of food, clothes, shoes, and coats can be made starting this weekend.  We are asking that you please make sure that the clothing is clean and separate your donations as follows:

• Size
• Gender
• Season (as well as you can)

Each month, items that will make a meal for a family will be collected.  Check the signs around the building for the items of the month.  This month is peanut butter, jelly, and canned fruit/fruit cups.  Please place items in the designated box outside the church office.

We have another opportunity to serve our community neighbors who have specific needs.  We are looking for a dresser and/or chest of drawers – any sizem and plates and cups.  Thank you for thinking about this and being a heart to our community!  We thank God for the opportunity to serve.

Our Benevolence Ministry uses food and gas cards to give some relief to members who are temporarily struggling.  The next time you are at the grocery store or gas pump, consider picking one up and dropping it off in the church office or in Box #15 down by the teen room.  Any denomination helps!  If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact Denise Forgione  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. A Child's Joy has partnered with Giant to do the SCRIP. This is a program where you can go online and order Giant food cards or gift cards and A Child's Joy recieve's a portion of the money. This is an EASY way for our family to give back to the community and support A Child's Joy.

How to do it:

3. Enter in your family's information
4. When asked for your enrollment code enter 616C984D1992L.  This is the number that
   connects you to A Child's Joy account. You will not need to re-enter it every time.
5. ORDER AWAY!!!! You will want to pay with PrestoPay, an online payment service, which is one of the payment options.
