Food for Gulf Oil Spill Families

Angel Food Ministries is involved with food assistance to the families affected by the oil spill. So far, they have donated three semi truck loads. If you would like to help in this effort, donations can be sent to Angel Food Ministries, P.O. Box 128, Good Hope, GA 30641. Be sure to note “Gulf Oil Spill Relief” in the memo.

Thursdays with Jesus

Come join us on Thursdays as we spend time with the kids from Chantilly Mews. We will be offering games, tutoring, and a Bible lesson every Thursday morning from 10:00 to noon in the teen room. If you are interested in helping tutor, providing snacks, transportation, or just a helping hand, please contact B.J. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Fall 2010 Basic Needs Giveaway Preparation

We are excited to start planning for the next Basic Needs Giveaway in the Fall of 2010.  Please mark your calendars for Saturday, September 25!  We are very excited about the work in the house next door and are happy to let you know donations of food, clothes, shoes, and coats can be made starting this weekend.  We are asking that you please make sure that the clothing is clean and separate your donations as follows:

  • Size
  • Gender
  • Season (as well as you can)

Each month, items that will make a meal for a family will be collected.  Check the signs around the building for the items of the month.  Please place items in the designated box outside the church office.

We have an ongoing list and three goal dates for complete bags of food for the Fall Basic Needs Giveaway.  This list will be updated weekly, so check back!

We are excited that so many items have been donated to the Giveaway and our inventory levels continue to meet and exceed our goals.  Our VBS children's donations really boosted our food inventory levels for peanut butter, jelly and macaroni and cheese.  The following are the few items we are still in need of to reach our Labor Day goal of 300 food bags:

Cereal - 223 (need 77)
Canned Fruit - 240 (need 60)
Salsa - 200 (need 100)
Jelly - 212 (need 88)
Tuna - 255 (need 45)
Rice - 219 (need 81)
Spaghetti Sauce - 239 (need 61)
Mayonnaise - 252 (need 48)
Canned Green Beans - 216 (need 84)
Canned Black Beans - 209 (need 91)

We have plenty of shopping bags, macaroni & cheese, pasta and peanut butter.  Two other items that are not in the food bags, but are greatly needed are laundry detergent and diapers (sizes 3-5).

Food & Gas Cards

Our Benevolence Ministry uses food and gas cards to give some relief to members who are temporarily struggling.  The next time you are at the grocery store or gas pump, consider picking one up and dropping it off in the church office or in Box #15 down by the teen room.  Any denomination helps!  If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact Denise Forgione  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
