Vacation Bible School

Join us August 2nd through 5th from 9:30 am to noon, for an awesome adventure to the SonQuest Rainforest! Explore and discover enormous plants, amazing animals, fabulous fish and intelligent insects. Come and learn about four parables that Jesus told that will make a difference in our kids' lives. These four days of discovery not only give kids the knowledge of God's word but also the opportunity to respond to His truth by living out their Christian faith. All children ages four years old through 6th grade are welcome!

IMPORTANT:  Only one parent needs to register, and please register all your children in a single registration.  THANKS!

FXCC Children Help with the September 2010 Basic Needs Giveaway

Our four-year-olds through 6th graders have an exciting opportunity during the month of February!  They will be collecting 300 cans of fruit or fruit cup packs in their Bible classes to be incorporated into the bags of food to be given away at our September Basic Needs Giveaway.  Parents, make sure your children bring their fruit to Bible Class rather than putting it in the grocery cart or the box by the offices.

Leadership Training for Christ (LTC)

We had a meeting back in November to provide information about our participation in Leadership Training for Christ (LTC) and we have started Bible Bowl practice on Wednesday nights. We have attempted to contact personally all those we know who indicated an interest in participating.

All students between the 3rd and 12th grades who are interested in participating in LTC which will culminate in a convention during Easter Weekend 2010 or any adults interested in assisting with this effort, please send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. We must have commitments from those wishing to participate no later than January 10, 2010.

What Your Child is Learning

This Sunday, March 7, our children will learn that good trees produce good fruit and bad trees produce rotten fruit. IN the same way, our good or bad actions demonstrate whether or not we’re followers of Christ. We will read Luke 6:43-45.

Talk with your children about the kinds of actions that demonstrate whether a person is a follower of Christ. You might focus on how a person treats others or how someone acts when no one is watching. Then share areas in your life where your actions are pleasing to God and areas where you might fall short. Encourage family members to think about one area in their lives that can show the good fruit of following Jesus. Then encourage each person to focus on following God in that area for the next seven days.

Pray to God and let Him know that we want other people to look at our actions and that we know we’re followers of Christ. Ask God to give us strength to follow Him in everything we do.

About the Children's Ministry

The Children's Ministry exists to supplement the family's desire to establish a spiritual foundation.  This will, we hope, lead a child to know, love, follow and serve Jesus Christ.  This is done through learning, serving, teaching and praying.

Our children's program concentrates on teaching the Bible through age-appropriate classes and worshp experiences.  Through prayer circles and service opportunities our children get to know each other better and realize that they are an important component of the family of God at the Fairfax Church of Christ.

Children Illness Policy
Please make sure that your children are not brought to Bible class if they are sick.  We love them and want them in Bible class every Sunday, but we don’t want to spread germs.  Our illness policy has been set up to keep our nursery and Bible classes as safe, happy and germ free as possible.  If your children exhibit any of the following symptoms for 24 hours prior to Sunday morning or Wednesday night, please keep them at home.
  • Fever greater than 100 degrees
  • Yellow or green runny nose
  • Questionable rashes
  • Excessive coughing
  • Diarrhea
  • Conjunctivitis (pink eye)
  • Any communicable disease.

If you child is being treated with antibiotics, he/she should be in the medications at least 24 hours prior to coming to nursery or Bible class.  Please use your best judgment for the comfort of your own child as well as the safety of others.
